Tornado Potatoes are a hybrid of french fries + potato chips – they are a super fun snack that you can whip up quickly using an air fryer. You just need a tornado potato spiral cutter (purchase here) and it takes about 30 seconds to cut each potato. I made 4 tornado potatoes for under a $1 using the Instant Pot Vortex, so I don’t have to pay $8 each at the fair!

Cut the potatoes using the tornado potato cutter (how to video here). Spread the potatoes out on the skewers so the slices are not touching. Spray or brush on oil and sprinkle on your favorite seasoning salt. Lay them on the tray and insert into the Air Fryer (only cook 1 tray at a time and they should be inside the oven during pre-heat). Choose Air Fry at 400°F for 16 Minutes. Flip them half way through. Check if you like the coloring and add a few minutes if you like them more crisp.
