POG is a tropical juice drink created in 1971 in Maui, HI by Haleakalā Dairy – it’s a blend of passion fruit, orange and guava. The first time I had it was in high school when my family took our first trip to Hawaii. They served us POG during our flight and I thought it was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. Luckily living in Southern California, we were able to get POG at our local grocery stores. It was my obsession during my teen years, but I haven’t had it in such a long time. Many people also know and love POG juice from Disney World or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

I now live in Austin and I can not find POG juice anywhere, so I’m sharing how I mix it up – my version is similar to Meadow Gold’s POG. Orange juice is available at any grocery store, but you might have a harder time finding passion fruit juice and guava nectar – I bought them at H-Mart, but I’ve also seen them at Cost Plus World Market.
