Lagostino Lobster Rolls Recipe

Langostino is the Spanish name for little lobster or squat lobster, they have a tender texture and delicate flavor. I buy them at Trader Joe’s from the freezer isle then defrost them in the fridge overnight. They’re the perfect cheap substitute for standard lobster in lobster rolls. These are also super quick and easy to make, I threw this together for lunch in 10 minutes. Trader Joe’s has brioche hot dog buns that are perfect for lobster rolls, you can also use New England style hot dog buns. Watch my 25-second Instagram recipe video here

Lagostino Lobster Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Cooked Langostino tails, defrosted
  • 2 Tablespoons Celery, finely diced
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Parsley, finely chopped
  • 5 Tablespoons Salted Butter, divided
  • ¼ Teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 4 Trader Joe’s Brioche Hot Dog Buns

Method

  • 1)

    In a bowl, add 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise, 2 Tablespoons diced Celery, 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice, 1 Teaspoon chopped Parsley, ¼ Teaspoon Fine Sea Salt, ⅛ Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper, stir to combine and set aside

    Drain the Langostino Tails and dab off any excess moisture with paper towels. Add 3 Tablespoons of Salted Butter to a pan and use med-low heat, add the Langostino Tails and cook for 2-3 minutes, just until they are warmed through and drain out the excess liquid in the pan. Toss the Langostino Tails with mayo mixture.

    In a large pan, add 2 Tablespoons of Salted Butter and use medium heat to grill the buns on both sides. Fill each bun with langostino tails. *Optional, melt some more butter and brush the tops of the buns and drizzle some on the langostino tails. Serve with lemon wedges and Enjoy!
