This is a super quick and simple recipe for Horchata Coffee (aka Dirty Horchata). Horchata is a traditional Mexican drink that’s made with rice soaked in water, then flavored with cinnamon and sugar – it usually takes about 6+ hours to make, but I’m using a shortcut with Trader Joe’s Rice Drink. You typically wouldn’t add coffee to horchata, but Guisados, a SoCal taco restaurant chain popularized it in Los Angeles by serving it “dirty” with a shot of cold brew coffee concentrate. It’s so delicious ☕️ coffee + cinnamon + sugar is a match made in heaven!
If you want to cut out the sugar in this recipe, use Trader Joe’s Allulose Sweetener – it’s the best sugar substitute I’ve found and tastes almost exactly like granulated sugar.
