When you’re in the mood for ramen, but don’t want to spend the two days it usually takes to make broth and chashu pork belly from scratch – Trader Joe’s to the rescue!  Every single ingredient for this meal is from Trader Joe’s, I’ll show you how I spruced up their Instant Ramen so it feels like you’re eating at a restaurant. For a complete meal, enjoy Trader Joe’s Gyoza as an appetizer and have their Mochi Ice Cream for dessert!

Ingredients for the Ramen, I used Spicy Miso for mine.Trader Joe’s Instant Miso Ramen Recipe Hack

For dessert, we enjoyed a few pieces of Trader Joe’s Mochi Ice Cream, let them sit out at room temp for about 3-4 minutes so the mochi gets soft.  My two favorite flavors are Green Tea and StrawberryTrader Joe’s Instant Miso Ramen Recipe Hack

Ingredients

RAMEN

  • 4 Trader Joe’s Miso or Spicy Miso Instant Ramen Cups
  • 5 Cups Water
  • 2 Teaspoons Salted Butter
  • ½ Garlic clove, pressed or finely minced
  • 1 Teaspoon Tahini

TOPPINGS

Method

  • 1)

Heat a large non-stick skillet on high heat, add the pork belly slices and sear both sides so they are slightly browned. Add 2 Tablespoons Trader Joe’s Soyaki Sauce into the hot pan and let it simmer for about 30 seconds, coat all the pork belly pieces in the sauce and turn off the heat and set aside.

  • 2)

Heat a large sauce pan on medium heat, add 2 Teaspoons Salted Butter and the minced Garlic, sauté for about 1-2 minutes. Add 5 Cups Water, the 4 seasoning packets and 4 oil packets from the Instant Ramen Cups, 1 Teaspoon Tahini and stir well (I also added ¼ Teaspoon of Sea Salt because the broth tasted a little under seasoned to me, but this is optional). Bring it to a boil then add the noodles, cook for 3 minutes stirring occasionally to help separate the noodles, then turn off the heat. Make sure all the noodles are separated and there are no clumps.

  • 3)

Divide the noodles and broth into two large bowls. Top each bowl with 2 Pork Belly Slices, ¼ Cup of Corn, chopped Green Onions, a Ramen Egg and 2 pieces of Seaweed. Enjoy!
