Mocha Crunch Cake Milkshake, selected unanimously by Trader Joe’s panel as the Grand Prize Winner for Trader Joe’s Instagram #TJsMilkshakeContest 🍨 The goal was to use five or fewer Trader Joe’s ingredients to make a unique milkshake,  so I took a fun trip to my local Trader Joe’s in Austin and grabbed a few of my favorite Trader Joe’s products I thought would taste amazing together.

Milkshakes are a rare treat for me, when I get the craving for one, a basic vanilla or cookies & cream milkshake is not going to cut it… I love super indulgent milkshakes – a dessert in milkshake form. This Mocha Crunch Cake Milkshake is made with Trader Joe’s delicious Coffee Bean Blast Ice Cream, Chocolate Milk + Mini Gluten Free Cupcakes, garnished with Trader Joe’s crushed Laceys Cookies and Whipped Cream – it’s a party of complimentary flavors and variation of textures.  Watch my short Instagram Recipe Video here

Ingredients

  • 1½ Cups TJ’s Coffee Bean Blast Ice Cream
  • ¼ Cup TJ’s Chocolate Milk
  • 4 TJ’s Gluten Free Mini Chocolate Cupcakes
  • 4 TJ’s Laceys Cookies
  • Whipped Cream

Method

  • 1)

Place 4 Trader Joe’s Lacey Cookies into a ziplock bag and crush them into chunky crumbs and pour onto a plate. Remove the frosting from 2 Trader Joe’s Mini Chocolate Cupcake and place into a small bowl (reserve these cupcakes to blend in the milkshake later).

  • 2)

Spread the frosting on the top two inches of the milkshake glass rim. Roll the rim of the glass in Laceys Cookies crumbs. With the remaining 2 Mini Chocolate Cupcakes, sprinkle Laceys Cookies crumbs on top of the frosting and set aside, you’ll use these to garnish the milkshake at the end.

  • 3)

Place 1½ Cups Trader Joe’s Coffee Bean Blast Ice Cream, ¼ Cup Trader Joe’s Chocolate Milk, the two reserved cupcakes without frosting into a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth, then pour into the milkshake glass.

  • 4)

Top the milkshake with Whipped Cream, put the two Mini Chocolate Cupcakes on top of 2 skewers, place the skewers into the milkshake glass. Sprinkle more Laceys Cookies crumbs on the whipped cream. Enjoy with a straw & spoon!
