Save hours of cooking time by making BBQ Pork Ribs in the Instant Pot. The ribs turn out very tender, just finish them off in the oven to get the BBQ sauce caramelized and sticky!

If you use your Instant Pot on the counter under your cabinets, this is an awesome accessory that diverts the steam downward and away from your cabinets (purchase here)

These are my two favorite BBQ Sauces from Trader Joe’s.

Ingredients

  • Full Rack of Pork Ribs
  • 2 Teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1¾ Teaspoons Liquid Smoke, divided
  • 2 Tablespoons Dry Rub
  • 1 Cup BBQ Sauce

Method

  • 1)

In a small bowl, mix 2 Teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 Teaspoon of Liquid Smoke. Brush the mixture over the top and bottom of the ribs. Sprinkle on 2 Tablespoons of your favorite Dry Rub and rub it into the ribs using your hands. Pour 1½ Cup of water into the Instant Pot, place the ribs into a steamer basket, then into the Instant Pot or stack them on top of the trivet.

  • 2)

Seal the lid and choose High Pressure for 25 Minutes – this will give you tender ribs that still have a slight bite to them (if you want ribs that fall off the bone, set for 35 Minutes). Pre-heat the oven to 425°F. When the timer is up on the Instant Pot, wait 15 Minutes before switching the knob to venting

  • 3)

Remove the ribs and place them onto a baking sheet covered with foil or parchment. Pour 1 Cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce into a bowl and mix in ¾ Teaspoon Liquid Smoke – sprinkle on a little more Dry Rub onto the ribs, then brush on a generous coating of BBQ sauce onto the ribs. Place the baking sheet on the top rack of the oven for about 10-15 minutes – every 5 minutes, baste with more bbq sauce. You can also finish / char the ribs on a bbq instead of the oven method. Serve with Instant Pot Potato Salad (recipe here). Enjoy!
