A simple, quick and delicious recipe for Garlic Mashed Potatoes made in the Instant Pot.

Using a steamer basket (purchase here) makes it easy to load and lift the potatoes out of the pot.

Instant Pot Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe

  • 2 Pounds Russet Potatoes, peeled & quartered
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, peeled
  • 4 Tablespoons Salted Butter
  • ¼ Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt

    Pour 1 Cup of Water into the Instant Pot, place potatoes and garlic into a steamer basket or stack on top of the trivet. Choose High Pressure / Manual and set for 10 Minutes. Once the timer is up, switch the knob to venting, when the pin drops open the lid. Lift out the steamer basked, pour out the water out of the liner and place it back into the Instant Pot. Add 4 Tablespoons Salted Butter, ¼ Cup Heavy Cream and 1 Teaspoon Coarse Kosher Salt into the pot and use a potato ricer to mashed the potatoes and garlic – add them to the pot. Stir well to combine everything, taste and season with more salt if needed. You can close the lid to keep the potatoes warm before serving. Enjoy!
