I’ve made hard boiled eggs in my Instant Pot so many times, I was using the 5-5-5 method that everyone talked about, but there was usually bursted eggs and sometimes a few of egg whites would be mushy. I started using the Low Pressure setting and I prefer it more, the egg shells still peel very easily, but I don’t have any issues with the eggs bursting.

  • Prep time: 30 seconds
  • Cook time: 11 minutes
  • Serves: 2-12

Ingredients

  • 2-12 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Large Bowl with Ice Water

Method

  • 1)

    Pour in 1 Cup of Water into the Instant Pot and place your trivet, steamer basket or egg rack into the pot. Stack your eggs on top of the trivet. Seal the Instant Pot lid and switch the knob to “Sealing”

  • 2)

    Set the Instant Pot for 11 Minutes at Low Pressure. When the timer is up, immediately switch the knob to “Venting” to release the pressure. When the pin drops open your lid.

  • 3)

    Place the eggs into a large bowl of Ice Water, let it cool in there for 5 Minutes. Enjoy your perfect hard boiled eggs!

    *It’s still possible to get bursted eggs if your eggs had hairline cracks to begin with.
