Coddled Eggs, one of the most delicious egg dishes you will ever have. They are similar to poached eggs, but they are poached in cream and butter & can be topped with other delicious breakfast items like bacon or smoked salmon. I usually just enjoy them simply seasoned with salt, black pepper and chives for a quick, but very satisfying breakfast.

Ingredients

  • Large Eggs
  • 1½ Teaspoons Heavy Cream per ramekin
  • Butter to coat the ramekins
  • Salt & Pepper

*EQUIPMENT

Method

  • 1)

Coat the interior of 4oz ramekins with a light layer of butter. Pour 1½ Teaspoons of Heavy Cream in each ramekin and crack a large egg into it. Cover the ramekins with foil. Pour 1 Cup of water into the Instant Pot, place the trivet into the pot, and place the ramekins on top of the trivet.

  • 2)

Choose High Pressure / Manual and set for 4 Minutes, once the timer is up wait 1 Minute and immediately switch the knob to venting (it’s best to set a timer on your phone, since the eggs can get overcooked very quickly). Remove from the Instant Pot, season with salt and pepper. Top with chives, cheese, crispy bacon pieces, smoked salmon, sautéed mushrooms, grilled asparagus – the toppings are limitless. Enjoy!

*With this timing, the egg whites are cooked through and the yolks are runny. Depending on your Instant Pot model or elevation, you may need to experiment with timing to get the eggs exactly to your preference.
