This is my copycat of the famous Garlic Noodles from the An family restaurants – their Vietnamese restaurants are some the most popular destinations for celebrities, foodies and lovers of Asian cuisine. If you’ve never heard of them, check out this cool Eater article that tells the story of their rise to success. Helene An, the founder of Thang Long was presented with the Pioneer Award in Culinary Arts by the Smithsonian for being “the mother of fusion cuisine”
These garlic noodles are served at Crustacean, AnQi, and Thang Long – created in their “Secret Kitchen” – it’s an Asian fusion noodle dish that’s quite possibly the most popular item on their menu. I use to live 5 minutes away from AnQi, and shelling out $14 all the time for a small plate of their garlic noodles & $65 for their amazing roasted crab was not easy on my pocket book! I started ordering it to go so I could figure out the ingredients at home, I think my version is pretty darn close! This Instant Pot recipe is a quick and easy “dump and go” method, I use spaghetti noodles instead of lo mein noodles like my original copycat recipe, but it’s still absolutely delicious.
If you use your Instant Pot on the counter under your cabinets, this is an awesome accessory that diverts the steam downward and away from your cabinets (purchase here)
